Describe New Media

In this day and age, there are a lot of uses for new media and it surrounds us daily. Examples of new media would be web 2.0, eBooks, podcasts, mashups, YouTube, etc. Determining new media from old media is different for everyone but in society the majority of new media and old media may stand at a strict opinion which people may share. For example, an elderly person would consider a projector as old media and newer televisions with the capability to access internet movie services such as Netflix as new media. Most of our generation considers old media to be classified as newspapers, encyclopedias, books, radios and analog televisions. In one of the articles I have read, the writer describes how the technology of music has transitioned which is very interesting.
